TracerTech solely concentrates its work on tracer gas test services and the sale of tracer gas equipment In cooperation with Lagus Applied Technology, Inc, (LAT) in Escondido, California TracerTech is the exclusive distributor for LAT designed tracer gas monitors in Europe TRACERTECH has been founded on May 10, 1994 and registered at the Chamber of Commerce in Ulm, Germany. The founder was Willigert Raatschen, phd. He studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Aachen (RWTH). His thesis was concerned with working fluids for adsorption heat pumps. Besides his academic tasks he worked for a software company in Cologne on the design and distribution of computer programs for heating and ventilation systems. After his phd he spent 15 months as postdoc in the Department of Chemical Engineering in Berkeley, California. In May 1987 he started his professional carrier with Dornier System GmbH in Immenstaad, which became later after some transitions Airbus Defense & Space. As manager of projects of the International Energy Agency (IEA) he collaborated with all famous institutes, which had expertise in the area of natural ventilation and contaminant dispersal. Main projects have been: Annex 9: Minimum Ventilation Rates Annex 14: Energy & Condensation Annex 18: Demand Controlled Ventilating Systems Scope of these projects was the development of algorithms to calculate natural ventilation flows and their validation via tracer gas testing within international collaboration. Willigert was lecturer at DIN, Berlin for lessons about natural ventilation in buildings. Other projects were concerned with ventilation in Uranium mines and natural ventilation through double facades in high-rise buildings. In May 1994 he bought the tracer activities out of Dornier and founded the TracerTech GmbH.
